About this crop pdf tool

Crop the visible page area by an equal margin in PDF points. Cropping only hides content outside the page box; it does not remove sensitive information.

When to use this tool

Reduce the visible margins of PDF pages without stretching their content.

Get started in three steps

  1. Choose your PDF file from your device.
  2. Use Redact PDF to permanently remove information. Cropping is not redaction.
  3. Select Crop PDF, review the result and download your file.

A practical example

Trim an equal visible border from a PDF using a margin measured in PDF points. Since 72 points equal one inch, a 36-point margin represents half an inch on each side.

Check the result

Inspect each page’s edges and confirm that captions or page numbers were not hidden. Cropping changes the visible box; the content outside it may still exist in the document.

If the result is not right

Do not use Crop to conceal private information. Use Redact PDF and inspect the exported copy. If only one edge needs different trimming, this equal-margin tool is not the right fit.

Does cropping permanently remove private information?

No. Cropping changes the visible page box and may leave hidden content in the file. Use Redact PDF or Smart Privacy Review to remove sensitive regions.
