About this photo & signature cleanup tool

Compare adjustable local cleanup against the original. Signature mode separates dark ink from paper; photo mode removes connected edges resembling the corner color. Complex backgrounds and faint strokes need careful review. Outputs a transparent PNG, at most four megapixels.

When to use this tool

Preview local cleanup of dark ink, paper shadows or a plain background before downloading PNG.

Get started in three steps

A practical example

For a dark-ink signature photographed on plain paper, select signature mode and adjust cleanup strength. Compare the original with the transparent preview before using it in an authorized document.

Check the result

Zoom in on dots, thin strokes and edge detail. The output is PNG with transparency, not a vector signature or evidence of who signed. Use only your own signature or one you have permission to handle.

If the result is not right

If faint strokes disappear, lower the strength or retake the photo with even lighting. Photo mode works from corner colors; busy backgrounds and clothing matching the background may not separate reliably.

Before you download

Can it remove any background?

No. Photo mode removes connected areas similar to corner colors. Complex scenes, hair and similar-colored clothes require careful review.

Where is my document processed?

Document processing runs in your browser. This tool does not upload your document for processing. Optional analytics measures visits and tool events only after you allow it; it does not receive your document content or filenames. Read the privacy policy.
