About this edit pdf tool

Add text and drawings with layers, undo and redo, or rewrite source text. Supports single-byte Latin fonts including embedded subsets, text arrays and reusable objects, up to 20 pages and 200 fragments. Keep the font size or shrink longer replacements to fit, down to 50%. Missing subset characters, multi-byte fonts and complex scripts are unsupported. Hindi additions use browser shaping and export as images.

When to use this tool

Add text or drawings, or replace supported existing Latin text fragments in a PDF.

Get started in three steps

  1. Choose your PDF file from your device.
  2. Add content with the toolbar, drag it into position and resize with the red corner. Select a layer to change its properties. Review every page before saving.
  3. Select Save PDF, review the result and download your file.

A practical example

To annotate a draft, add text or a drawing, drag it into position and inspect the selected layer. Source-text replacement is a separate operation for supported Latin text fragments.

Check the result

Check the saved PDF, not only the editor canvas. Longer replacements may be shrunk to fit. New Hindi text is rendered as an image, and editing an already-signed file may invalidate its signature.

If the result is not right

An embedded subset font may lack a replacement character. Do not replace unsupported source text by hiding it and assume it is removed. Use a proper redaction workflow for confidential content.

Before you download

Why can some existing PDF text not be rewritten?

Rewriting currently supports standard unembedded Latin fonts and direct text fragments. Embedded fonts, text arrays and Form XObjects are unsupported. Longer replacements must fit the original width.

Where is my document processed?

Document processing runs in your browser. This tool does not upload your document for processing. Optional analytics measures visits and tool events only after you allow it; it does not receive your document content or filenames. Read the privacy policy.
