About this certificate sign pdf tool

Your certificate and password stay in the browser. Adds a detached SHA-256 signature. Requires an unexpired RSA or EC certificate. No certificate issuance, trusted timestamp, revocation check or identity verification. Trust depends on your issuer and PDF viewer.

When to use this tool

Get started in three steps

A practical example

Check the result

Open the output in a PDF reader that validates digital signatures. Check the signer certificate and validation status, and keep the original certificate and password private.

If the result is not right

An untrusted-issuer warning is different from a damaged signature. Check your certificate chain with its issuer. This tool supplies no trusted timestamp or revocation check; edits after signing may invalidate it.
