About this pdf to excel tool

Choose general text rows, inferred aligned columns or closed ruled-table extraction. Aligned mode infers column positions from the most complete row on each page and retains empty positions; irregular and multiline layouts need review. Ruled mode keeps blank and rectangular merged cells with one sheet per table. Up to 100 pages. Values stay text by default; optional numeric mode converts plain decimals up to 15 digits. Leading-zero IDs, dates, locale-formatted amounts and formulas stay text.

When to use this tool

Extract selectable tabular text into XLSX, then review blank cells, columns and identifiers.

Get started in three steps

  1. Choose your PDF file from your device.
  2. Choose a text-based PDF, select an extraction method and review every sheet against its source. Enable numeric cells only when appropriate; identifiers can look like numbers. Scans need OCR first.
  3. Select PDF to Excel, review the result and download your file.

A practical example

For a ruled statement, choose closed-table extraction to preserve blank and merged cells. For an unruled aligned list, try aligned columns; use general rows when you mainly need searchable text.

Check the result

Compare column boundaries and totals with the source. Keep account numbers and leading-zero identifiers as text. Numeric mode converts only supported plain decimals, not locale-formatted amounts or formulas.

If the result is not right

Misaligned or multiline rows need manual spreadsheet cleanup. OCR image-only pages before extraction. A sheet created successfully is not evidence that every cell was assigned to the right column.

Before you download

Which tables can be reconstructed?

Closed ruled grids and reasonably aligned columns have dedicated modes. Irregular or borderless multiline layouts need manual review. Values stay text by default to protect identifiers and formula-like strings.
