About this flatten pdf tool

Flatten standard AcroForm fields into visible page content. Fields stop being editable. XFA forms and certificate-backed signatures are not supported.

When to use this tool

Make completed standard form-field values part of the visible PDF page content.

Get started in three steps

A practical example

Complete a standard fillable form, save an editable original and flatten a copy for a recipient who only needs to read the filled values.

Check the result

Open the result and check that every value and checkbox is visible and fields no longer accept edits. Flattening is about standard AcroForm fields, not a guarantee that all PDF features are removed.

If the result is not right

If values are missing, first save and reopen the original in a form-capable reader. XFA and certificate-backed signatures are not supported by this flattening workflow.

Will fields remain editable after flattening?

No. Keep an editable original if values may change. Standard AcroForm fields are supported; XFA and certificate-backed signatures are not.

Where is my document processed?

Document processing runs in your browser. This tool does not upload your document for processing. Optional analytics measures visits and tool events only after you allow it; it does not receive your document content or filenames. Read the privacy policy.
