When a PDF comes out back to front

A stack scanned from the bottom up, or photos combined newest first, can give you a PDF that starts on its last page. Reversing turns 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 into 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in one step, without picking pages one by one.

Only the order changes. Each page keeps its content, size and rotation, and text stays selectable. Reversing the same file again returns the original order. Bookmarks in the original’s sidebar are not carried over to the new PDF.

How to reverse the pages of a PDF

  1. Choose the PDF from your device. It opens in this browser tab and is not uploaded.
  2. Select Reverse pages. There is nothing to set: every page is included and the last page becomes the first.
  3. Download the new PDF and check the first page, the last page and one change of section in the middle.

A practical example

A feeder scan of a five-page letter arrives as 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Reverse pages creates a copy in the order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 with each page looking exactly as before. The original file on your device is not changed.

Before you download

Reverse the whole file, or fix only part of it?

Every page is in reverse order
Use this tool. It always reverses all pages, so covers and separator pages move too: check the first and last page after downloading.
Only some pages are reversed
Use Organize PDF and type the full order. For an eight-page file where pages 3 to 6 came out as 6, 5, 4, 3, enter 1-2,6,5,4,3,7-8.
Double-sided scan: fronts first, then backs in reverse
Use Organize PDF to interleave them. A six-page file saved as 1, 3, 5, 6, 4, 2 is fixed with the sequence 1,6,2,5,3,4. Reversing the whole file would not fix this.
Does reversing pages rotate their contents?

No. It changes the page sequence only. Use Rotate PDF separately to correct sideways pages.

How do I reverse PDF pages on my phone?

Open this page in your phone’s browser, choose the PDF from Files or Downloads, select Reverse pages and download the result. No app or account is needed.

Can I reverse just a range of pages?

Not with this tool; it reverses the whole file. Use Organize PDF and enter the complete order you want, such as 1-2,6,5,4,3,7-8. Pages left out of that sequence are excluded from the result.

Where is my document processed?
