Use PDF tools more carefully on a shared computer

Understand local processing, temporary uploads, downloads and browser storage when working at a cyber café or shared workstation.

Know where processing happens

Most PaperLumo tools work in browser memory. Office, HTML and PDF/A conversion need a temporary server upload; AI sends reviewed text to Groq after confirmation. Local processing does not protect you from a compromised computer, browser extension or screen observer.

Keep documents out of persistent shortcuts

Favorites and workflows store tool preferences, not document contents. The optional offline toolkit caches app files for its four listed tools. It is not a document vault. Do not confuse clearing recent tool names with deleting downloaded documents.

Review filenames and hidden information

Use a neutral filename when appropriate. Metadata removal can remove document properties, but it is not complete sanitization and does not erase information printed on pages. For sensitive page content use proper redaction and inspect every output page.

Finish the session deliberately

Save the final files to your own device. Close the working tabs and remove your input/output files from the shared computer, including its Downloads folder and trash where authorized. Clear browser site data when appropriate; this does not erase copies or backups controlled by the operator.
