Excel to PDF without cutting off columns
Fix XLSX print areas, page width, blank pages and tiny text before converting a spreadsheet to PDF.

Find the problem in Print Preview first
Open a copy of the workbook in your spreadsheet app and inspect Print Preview. If a column is already on a separate page there, fix the source layout before using a converter. A page boundary is different from clipped text inside a cell: widen that column, wrap the text or adjust the row height when the cell itself hides content. Conversion cannot recover words that the source print layout does not display.
Choose the intended cells and paper size
In desktop Excel, select the report cells, then use Page Layout → Print Area → Set Print Area. Choose the paper size your recipient will print on; use Landscape for a wide table when appropriate. Menu names differ across spreadsheet apps and versions. If new rows are missing, clear an outdated print area and set it again. Review every worksheet you intend to include rather than assuming the active sheet is the entire output.
Fit one page wide, not necessarily one page tall
Under Scale to Fit in Excel, start with Width: 1 page and Height: Automatic. This keeps the columns together while allowing a long table to continue down several pages. Forcing both dimensions to one page can make a large report unreadable. If the text is still too small, shorten nonessential columns, increase paper size only if the recipient accepts it, or split the report into logical tables. Use Print Titles to repeat the header row on later pages and check that the final total remains visible.
Resolve extra pages without deleting source data
Inspect the print area for distant formatted cells and check manual page breaks. Use a separate workbook copy if only one worksheet should be shared; deleting a sheet from the original can break formulas. Do not assume hiding a row or worksheet is a secure way to remove private information. Review every exported page. If an unwanted page has already been exported, Delete Pages can remove that page from a PDF copy, but it cannot repair a column split across two pages.
Convert the saved XLSX and check the downloaded PDF
Save the layout changes as a genuine .xlsx file. PaperLumo accepts one XLSX up to 20 MB and uses temporary server processing after your consent. Renaming .xls or .xlsm does not convert those formats. Compare column headings, identifiers with leading zeros, dates, totals and all page breaks in the downloaded PDF; LibreOffice rendering can differ from Excel.
